I find that I am constantly assessing the students in an informal manner, whether I have intended to or not. At CHS there are many 90 minute blocks, these blocks often need to be split up into three sections; instruction, followed by an activity, and then typically ended with a wrap up. The activity is where I find myself constantly taking informal assessments. I base my intake on the questions I am receiving most often and by observing the work that they have done throughout the activity. I then use this information during the wrap up section of class. I can emphasize the things that most students were having trouble with, what I think they should work on, and also what they did really well with. I try to make adjustments on the fly if I can recognize early on that many students are having trouble with something specific in an attempt to address the problem
